The Herndon WinterMarkt offers a spectacular blend of traditional German/European foods and gifts, coupled with fun entertainment set in historic downtown Herndon. In our inaugural year, more than 7,000 people came to the market to enjoy, explore and make cherished memories. Consider partnering with us, and be a part of this year’s holiday memories. In addition to the listed partnership opportunities the market is happy to discuss customized sponsorship options. Sponsorships can be from individuals and companies alike and range in value for every budget, plus provide you with a unique opportunity to reach lots of our social media and website participants with advertising before, during and after the event. Please complete a Sponsorship Package and return to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The mission of the Herndon WinterMarkt is to provide the Town of Herndon and surrounding area with a wintertime family destination by providing an engaging and authentic German and European cultural experience. Our participants look forward to both food/beverage and hard/soft wares vendors, all with the spirit of Christmas, Europe and community in mind. Vendors participating in the Herndon WinterMarkt must be committed to partnering with the market in order to provide this experience to our visitors and community. The Herndon WinterMarkt is a winter market – plan to be in operation in cold temperatures. Sales associates should dress in warm clothes, and should be comfortable in cold temperatures for extended periods of time. While the managing committee of the Herndon WinterMarkt is happy to partner with contracted vendors and function as a resource to the entire market, market committee members will not be available to individual vendors to provide retail staffing support. Vendors may not rely on market committee members or volunteers in order to provide temporary staffing support or restroom breaks for your stand.
Starting in 2020, the Herndon WinterMarkt is extending its vendor community through a virtual market called MarketPlatz. You may choose to be included in this event with marketing options that include social media and website engagement throughout the season or year. You will be required to provide your own website and point-of-sale and shipping systems. To participate, please complete a Vendor Package and return to email@example.com.
In light of events in 2020 we cannot gather in the traditional WinterMarkt format, but we can still build our spirit of community and the holidays. WinterPlatz is a community celebration that will be held December 11-13. If you are a local establishments (or a vendor who can work to cohost with a local establishment), you can join in the festive spirit by decorating and offering WinterPlatz specials (such as discounts for guests wearing themed apparel, offering holiday floral arrangements or German food). We want to support our community members looking to dine in, carry out or do a little holiday shopping – want to make sure there will be something for everyone. To participate, please complete a WinterPlatz Package and return to firstname.lastname@example.org.
This spectacular event offers volunteers the opportunity to be a WinterMarkt Ambassador and celebrate the season with the thousands of visitors who attend. Ambassadors will serve as the face of the market in roles such as greeters, gluhwein and beer handlers and helping to keep the market in tip-top shape. There are opportunities for volunteers aged 15 and older and may count toward school requirements for volunteerism. To select a volunteer opportunity and time, please visit our page on Sign Up Genius.
We’ve had wonderful German bands, tubas, dance and traditions groups, skits and we are always looking for more. If you have a unique idea for entertainment or fit in any of the performance categories noted, please contact us at email@example.com.
